Supremely bad judgement

When a Supreme Court Justice steps down or passes away, what's the most logical thing to do? Apparently, appoint someone who has never been a judge to one of the most important positions in our country. If it is of any comfort to you, the next choice on Bush's list was Bill Frist, the Senate Majority Leader who is under investigation by the SEC for insider trading.

Some are considering the nomination of Harriet Miers to be a victory for Democrats, as conservative Republicans are sceptical of Mier's abortion stance, prior donations to Al Gore and possible past as a registered Democrat.

You can decide for yourself on the matter, but keep this in mind: Miers is said to have called President Bush "the most brilliant man I have ever met".
